Sabinov

Today we visited a little town called Sabinov. Most of its inhabitants are Roma people and there is a strong Christian group present in this town.
Our Roma brothers in Christ needed help with pouring some concrete at their construction site. It will be the first self-driven Roma church in Slovakia after it's done. Our students worked hard at moving buckets full of cement and pouring it at the right place. The rest of us had a very special time with the Roma children from surrounding places.
Everybody took and excellent care of us and we were privilaged to eat goulash cooked over the fire. It was delicious!!! Besides we met many special young and older people who love Jesus with all of their hearts and we were really encouraged by that.
Another day has passed by!!!

Kosice

Right now we are staying in Kosice, Slovakia. It has been a great experience and we will never forget all the people we met.
After a long drive from Nove Zamky we finally got to our hotel. They had some troubles with housing us but the Lord took care of it all and now we are enjoying our neat rooms, our roommates and especially our showers with no shower curtains which causes a big flood everyday:-)
Everyone is staying very positive and very flexible. We are so proud of every single person - people are just amazed whenever they get to work with our teenagers.
On Tuesday we started the painting job at Lunik 9. It was pretty challenging - the walls were in a bad shape but by now they are looking awesome!
The rest of us got to play with the Gypsy children in their gym and some others picked up tons of garbage around the school in Lunik 9.
Yesterday and today we started visiting schools. Since they really enjoy talking to someone from a foreign country, they were very excited to have us. We talked about our lives, the differences, the commons, the school over there, the driving, sports, music...We had a good time talking to many teenagers and inviting them to the final "party" at the local church. The party will take place tomorrow night so we would appreciate your prayers.
Last night we had a chance to go back to Lunik 9 and spend some time with all the children. We were really surprised when we saw about 300 children gathering all around us. It was amazing playing with them, singing praises and just loving on them.
We are all doing great and we are so thankful for your spiritual support!
Talk to you soon!

We are here!

Hello from Slovakia!
We all made it safely and are happy to be here! Right now we moved from the town of Nove Zamky to the eastern part of Slovakia - Kosice.
We had very good time at the church in Nove Zamky as well as at the orphanage in the near by town. The little children just loved all the American teenagers!
Today we will be going to Lunik 9, the Gypsy settlement. We will start some painting as well as different kinds of activities for the students.
Everybody is doing well, staying healthy and full of energy. We have seen God's power get us through all complications and troubles that came our way and we want to praise His name for all of it.
Please, keep praying for the health of our team and for new strength for every day!

Getting closer!

Hello friends!
We are now getting really close to our departure. I hope all of you have your passports by now. The weather in Slovakia is pretty warm right now. Every day has been sunny and hot. They are expecting few rainstorms but generally I think we will have a pleasant weather.
Some of you asked about the possibility of bringing traveler's checks. That is not a good idea since they really don't accept those anywhere. The best think would be to bring cash or a debit card. Just let your bank know you are going to be overseas so they don't assume your card has been stolen.

We look forward to seeing you all here! Make sure you get a good night sleep before you leave because we are going to be working and serving a lot:-) :-)
God bless you!
